Description
Coated Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture, Undyed Braided, Size 4-0, 27", with RB-1 Taper Point Needle, is a synthetic absorbable suture designed to provide secure tissue closure and antibacterial protection. Manufactured from polyglactin 910, the suture offers excellent handling and knot security while minimizing tissue drag.
This suture features a taper point RB-1 needle, which allows for smooth penetration through delicate tissue without cutting. The needle is specifically engineered for atraumatic passage, making it suitable for general soft tissue approximation, including subcutaneous and fascial closure. The RB-1 needle supports precise suture placement and minimizes tissue disruption.
Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture is coated with an antibacterial agent, triclosan, which has demonstrated in vitro effectiveness in creating a zone of inhibition against common surgical site pathogens. These include Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).
