Precision Cosmetics PDS™ II (Polydioxanone) Monofilament Suture, Clear, Size 4-0, 18", is a sterile absorbable surgical suture composed of the polyester polymer polydioxanone. It is designed to provide extended wound support and minimal tissue reactivity, making it suitable for delicate and prolonged healing applications, including cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

This suture is engineered for smooth passage through tissue due to its monofilament structure, reducing drag and minimizing trauma during placement. It retains approximately 80% of its tensile strength at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks, and 60% at 6 weeks. These properties allow for reliable wound approximation through the critical healing phase.

The suture undergoes complete mass absorption via hydrolysis between 183 and 238 days, with breakdown products absorbed and excreted through normal physiological pathways. Its prolonged absorption profile provides the advantage of long-term tissue support while eliminating the need for suture removal.
