Precision Cosmetic VICRYL™ Coated Suture, Braided, Undyed, Size 6-0, 18" is a synthetic, absorbable surgical suture composed of polyglactin 910, a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. The suture is braided and coated with a mixture of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate to improve handling, reduce tissue drag, and enhance knot security.

The suture provides high pliability and excellent knot-holding performance. It ensures knot security even on the first throw, making it ideal for delicate soft tissue applications that require precise control. The small size and smooth handling are suitable for general tissue approximation, especially in superficial closures such as skin, eyelids, and subcutaneous layers.

VICRYL™ Coated Suture retains approximately 50% of its tensile strength at three weeks post-implantation. This property allows for adequate wound support during the critical phases of tissue healing. Following this period, strength diminishes progressively as the material undergoes hydrolytic degradation.
