Description

PDS™ Plus Monofilament Suture, Ps2, Clear, Size 5-0, 18" is an absorbable, antibacterial monofilament surgical suture composed of polydioxanone and impregnated with triclosan (Irgacare® MP). It is designed to offer extended wound support while inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture surface.

This suture retains approximately 80% of its tensile strength at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks, and 60% at 6 weeks post-implantation. Complete mass absorption occurs between 183 and 238 days through hydrolysis. The clear, undyed filament allows minimal tissue drag and is well tolerated by tissue, reducing the incidence of inflammation and foreign body reaction.

PDS™ Plus offers a smooth passage through tissue with reduced memory, enhancing knot security and ease of handling. The monofilament construction contributes to low bacterial adherence, further minimizing infection risk.
