Description
Coated VICRYL™ Absorbable Suture, Violet Braided, Size 4/0, 18", with C-3 needle, is a synthetic, sterile, absorbable surgical suture composed of Polyglactin 910. It is a copolymer made from glycolide and lactide, braided for flexibility and coated with a mixture of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate. This coating enhances knot security and facilitates smooth tissue passage.
The suture is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation. It is also suitable for ophthalmic procedures but is not recommended for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues. The 4/0 size offers balanced tensile strength and is commonly applied in delicate closures, including subcutaneous, ophthalmic, and reproductive tract tissues.
The C-3 needle is a 3/8 circle precision cutting needle designed for effective penetration of dense or delicate tissue layers. Its configuration allows for precise handling and minimal trauma. The violet color of the suture improves visibility in the surgical field, supporting accurate placement.
