Undyed Coated Vicryl 2-0 SH 27" Suture is an absorbable, braided synthetic suture used for general soft tissue approximation and ligation. It is frequently employed in a variety of surgical applications, including ophthalmic procedures, muscle and tissue closure, ligatures, and reproductive tract surgeries. However, it is not recommended for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues due to its absorption characteristics. 

The Coated Vicryl 2-0 SH Suture features enhanced knot security, ensuring a secure first throw, which reduces the need for additional knot throws and simplifies the surgical process. Its smooth, coated surface allows for easy passage through tissues, minimizing friction and reducing tissue trauma, which contributes to improved patient recovery outcomes.

After approximately three weeks, the suture loses about 50% of its tensile strength. It undergoes complete mass absorption within 56 to 76 days, making it ideal for surgeries that do not require suture removal and where rapid absorption is beneficial.
