Undyed Ethicon Coated Vicryl Braided Absorbable Prime Reverse Cutting 4-0 PS-4C 18" Compound Suture is a sterile, synthetic absorbable suture made from polyglactin 910, a copolymer of glycolide and lactide. The suture is coated with a mixture of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate, enhancing its pliability and ease of handling. 

This suture is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including ophthalmic procedures. It is not suitable for use in cardiovascular or neurological surgeries due to limitations in strength retention. The suture features a PS-4C reverse cutting needle, designed for precision in delicate tissues, particularly in ophthalmic and dermal procedures.

The suture retains approximately 50% of its tensile strength by the end of the third postoperative week. This performance supports effective wound closure and stability during the critical healing period. The braided construction improves knot security, particularly on the first throw, and provides consistent performance across a range of surgical applications.
