Description
Coated Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture, violet braided, size 2-0, with SH needle, is an absorbable suture designed for effective soft tissue approximation and ligation. The suture is composed of polyglactin 910, a synthetic braided material that provides excellent handling, flexibility, and knot security.
The antibacterial properties of this suture are achieved through a triclosan coating, which has demonstrated the ability to inhibit bacterial colonization. This effect creates a zone of inhibition against common surgical site pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).
The SH needle incorporated with the suture is a taper point needle, facilitating atraumatic passage through delicate tissues. The needle design supports precision and control during suturing, making it suitable for various surgical procedures, including general soft tissue, gynecologic, and ophthalmic applications.
